The Elders

This page is dedicated to our own family members.

In order from oldest to youngest, they are:

Ozzy - grey and white tabby born in 2004. Was found as a newborn IN A TRASHCAN. A vet tech found the litter of three and bottle fed/raised them to 12 weeks before adopting two of them out (she kept one). We like to call Ozzy our "fair weather cat" as he despises all forms of inclement weather.

Sonja - a petite gray tiger, adopted us in March of 2006. Very smart, and an excellent hunter who loves to "feed" her family. We never know what she will drag home. Sometimes we can rescue them from her, sometimes we get to them too late. Aside from a multitude of mice, moles, birds, and rabbits, of the odder things she's brought to us are: flying squirrels, weasels, snakes, and a Northern saw whet owl (which we were able to rescue).

Sammy - a sweet-natured gray tiger who we've dubbed "Fat Sam" due to her girth. She came to us at about 5 months of age when a friend was moving and had to give her up. She was of "normal" weight until she was spayed. I suspect adhesions bothered her to the point that she limited her movement for several weeks after, thus the pounds began packing on. She also has shorter legs than normal, which makes her look even bigger.

Charming - an orange and white tabby who had been dropped off at a vacation home I manage. Found in 2014, the first Saturday in May, he was approximately a year old. He loves to eat, probably because he went without food for a couple of days before being found. Unfortunately, too much gorging causes him to purge so we have to limit his intake of food to just a tablespoon several times throughout the day (although you wouldn't know it by his chubbiness - which I chalk up to his hunting skills).

Brody - a dark gray tiger approximately a year old we just adopted on June 29, 2017. A stray that wound up being fed by one of our friends since last winter, they were finally able to capture him and get him treated and neutered at Paradise Garden Animal Haven. We took him in after that. Very feral, as of Aug. 1, he just began trusting us enough to let us pet him.

Photos coming soon.
